Sameera has built a career dedicated to fostering sustainable development across South Africa and beyond. She began her journey by evaluating the social impact of large-scale national infrastructure projects, honing her expertise in addressing community needs. Her passion for meaningful change led her to transition to philanthropy, where she has since led and manged high-value projects. These initiatives spanned various sectors, focusing on improving lives, fostering economic empowerment, and promoting social equity.

Currently, Sameera serves as the Operations Manager at the Anglo American Foundation, a philanthropic organisation committed to championing youth for a green and fair future. In this role, she leverages her leadership skills to shape strategic initiatives and forge partnerships that align with the Foundation’s mission. A key part of her role includes maintaining key stakeholder relationships, strengthening operational frameworks, enhance efficiency, and support meaningful programme delivery across the foundation.

Her education in development economics, paired with an MBA, complements her hands-on experience, develop innovative, real-world solutions that address pressing economic challenges.  Passionate about learning from successful social impact models, Sameera continues to be a driving force behind innovative projects that make a tangible difference in the communities they serve.
