Early Childhood Development
Introduction
IPASA’s ECD Funder Initiative supports funders to strengthen South Africa’s early learning ecosystem through evidence, collaboration, and shared learning, offering a trusted platform for funders seeking to deepen their impact in the early years.
Under the ECD initiative, IPASA has developed key resources and facilitated opportunities to help funders understand the early learning landscape, identify high-impact opportunities, and work together more collaboratively on sector-wide challenges.
One of the initiative’s innovative approaches, the ECD Dialogue Circles, has brought funders together around priority areas with the potential to drive systemic change. In particular, the climate-focused Dialogue Circle has created new pathways for collaboration, encouraging funders to integrate climate considerations into early childhood support.
Building on these foundations, the ECD Initiative continues to empower funders with the insight and practical tools needed to tackle the complex challenges facing young children, catalyse lasting improvements in the early years ecosystem, and create real, measurable impact in the lives of South Africa’s youngest learners.
