Fia has over 20 years’ experience in the development sector, which includes work in project and programme design, implementation, monitoring, reporting and knowledge management. This includes being responsible for the KM unit in National Treasury’s Technical Assistance Unit (now GTAC), providing KM consulting services and she has 5 years’ experience as an independent evaluator. Earlier experience in the development sector includes working on various donor-funded projects in provincial and national government, and programme management in a regional UN Agency. Common threads are work related to making information more accessible, enhancing connections between different components of project and programme implementation, and capacity development. Specific areas of interest in addition to research and evaluation include data visualisation, creative and generative data collection and facilitation approaches, and the promotion of gender equity. She is currently enrolled for an MPhil in M&E and has post-graduate qualifications in Advanced Research Methodology and Social Impact Assessment.
