Lethabo Rampya is the Head of Grant-Making at Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy South Africa. With a strong passion for community-driven development, Lethabo is committed to enhancing the capacity of local communities to identify and implement their own solutions. What excites her most about grant-making is its potential to serve as an equaliser, ensuring that what is possible for a few can be replicated for the many, especially in contexts where systemic imbalances exist.
Lethabo values the wealth of knowledge and expertise held by local organisations, particularly those embedded within the communities they serve, and enjoys working with smaller, typically underfunded organisations to support their capacity strengthening and sustainability efforts. Lethabo is currently on a learning journey to understand the South African entrepreneurship ecosystem, exploring how significant investments in the Education and Employment sectors can be leveraged to support it. Additionally, he is exploring collaborative funding models and looks forward to connecting with others to explore new partnerships in this space.
