Mamo Mohapi a program officer on the Civil Society team of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. She is based in the Johannesburg, South Africa office and is responsible for managing the Foundation’s philanthropy development portfolio in South Africa. During her time at the Foundation, Mamo has focused on supporting the development of community philanthropy in South Africa. She has participated in several learning visits and had gained exposure to the field of philanthropy in other contexts including central and Eastern Europe, United Kingdom, and in the US. Before joining the Mott Foundation Mamo worked as the business development manager for Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa (CAFSA), and managed a portfolio of Corporate Social Involvement programs for several businesses. Mamo managed the Employee Volunteering program at CAFSA and managed a team of client relations managers. Mamo started her career as the national finance office at Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa (PPASA). She holds a degree in Cost and Management Accounting from the Vaal University of technology. She completed several certificate programs including a development communications program from the school of Journalism at Wits University, and the emerging leaders program from Common Purpose.
